Lowacherra National Park: Lawachara is one of the best national sanctuaries in Bangladesh. The 1,250 hectares national park Lawachara is a beautiful tropical forest. In 1997 Bangladesh government declared it a National Park. This forest is built by the British, the time of their rule in Indian Subcontinent. Biological diversity in the Lawachara National Park consists of 460 species, of which 167 species are plants, 4 amphibian species, 6 reptile species, 246 bird species and 20 mammal species. Different types of plants make the natural view of ‘Lawachara’ more thrilling and attractive. Trees like Raktan, Erythrina Indica, Shegun, Orchid, Fishtail Palm, Dhootora, etc. are found in plenty in ‘Lawachara’. ‘Lawachara’ consists of a huge bamboo forest. Among the bamboos, ‘Jai Bash’ is a bamboo which is very thick and very rare. ‘Agor’ tree is another excellent legend in ‘Lawachara’.

Khasia Village: Khasia Village where the tribal people live a very simple and frugal lifestyle. They have to go down 200ft (not very safe in wet weather) to fetch water for their daily chores!! The Khasia tribe around Srimangal lives a very simple and healthy life. They grow mostly beetle leaves (Paan) a chewing leaf used widely in Bangladesh.

Madhabpur Lake: Madhabpur Lake is natural lake inside the Madhabpur tea estate. The water of the lake is so clean and clear that you cannot stop yourself from jumping inside the lake. This lake is between the small hills, and most of the hills are planted with tea trees. At winter season different kind of migratory birds comes here from cold countries so Bird lovers can see and enjoy different kind of birds here. This is an ideal place for Photographers. There is always heavy wind from the lake that made the water of the lake looks like a river or calm sea water.

Baikka Beel Wetland: Baikka Beel is about 100 hectares of wetland in the eastern part of Sreemangal. On 1 July 2003, after a detailed planning process, the Ministry of Land decided to reserve it as a permanent sanctuary. It has since been developed as a safe haven for inland, fresh water fish. Several fish species breed here and re-populate the haor (large natural depression) of which most of them are categorized as ‘rare and endangered. It is a beautiful marshland with thousands of lilies and lotus bloom. An observation tower is built for the visitors that facilitate a good view of the Beel, its residents and winter birds. Tourists visit Baikka Beel round the year while the highest influx of tourist is observed in the winter season because the sanctuary is full of birds at that time. Baikka Beel comprises of open water with emergent vegetation (mostly lotus), and a fringe of native swamp forest planted in 5-8 years ago. Originally it was protected to conserve and restore fish and it supports about 90 species of fish. So far 141 bird species have been recorded in the sanctuary, large flocks of ducks including up to 4,500 Fulvous Whistling-duck occur in winter, Great Spotted Eagle is regular, and good numbers and diversity of shorebirds, marshland warblers and other birds occur. Mammals are few but include Fishing Cat. A visitor tower with several permanent interpretive displays was opened in early 2007. This is the only such facility in the country and this is the only substantial community managed wetland sanctuary in the country.
